Steel City Rowing Club is currently seeking an assistant coach for the Spring Rowing Season. Qualified candidates should contact Coach Zach Petronic with the provided information above.
- Minimum one year sculling experience.
-Sound understanding of the rowing stroke.
- Ability/experience to drive a launch.
- Sound communication skills and ability to work with others.
-Willingness and ability to lead student/athletes by example as well as through effective and positive leadership traits, principles and practices.
-Ability to instruct the fundamentals of rowing at the novice level while pushing athletes to develop into successful varsity rowers and program contributors beyond novice rowing.
-Ability to assist in other coaching staff duties as required.
-Ability to assist in planning and executing all aspects of team travel, including being available for some weekend travel.
- Implement the training program and provide input on development of the program.
-Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Coaches are required to get the appropriate background checks once accepted which will be paid for by the club.
The Junior Program practices 6 days per week. Monday- Friday 4-6pm and Saturday 9-11am. At a minimum we are looking for a coach to fulfill Tues/Thurs/Saturday practices.
